Fans of Emmerdale are certain that a significant member of Dingle is going to visit the village.

There have been hints on ITV’s Emmerdale that the cherished Dingle family may be expanding. This week marked the remarriage of soap opera legends Mandy (played by Lisa Riley) and Paddy (played by Dominic Brunt), some 25 years after their initial union.

But as befits a soap opera, there was turmoil along their route to the altar. After learning about Mandy’s covert side business as a financial dominatrix, Paddy canceled the wedding a few hours before it was scheduled to take place, according to the Express.

She had kept this information from Paddy until Bear (Joshua Richards), Paddy’s father, found out about it while she was having financial difficulties. The couple delighted the locals and watchers at home by working things out and proceeding with their wedding despite this setback.

Fans were buzzing, though, about a heartfelt exchange between Mandy and her son Vinny (Bradley Johnson). Vinny spoke movingly of his grandmother Vera-Lynn Dingle prior to the wedding, noting that she was noticeably missing from the festivities.

Mandy mentioned her mother in her conversation with Vinny.

“Paddy’s going to get the best wife and I’ve got the best mom,” Vinny comforted Mandy. Has your mother contacted you?

Mandy answered, “I haven’t, you know that. Be not sorry for me. Our Vera-Lynn is the gold medal winner when it comes to disappointing me. However, I don’t get mad at her when she disappoints me if I don’t have high expectations.”

Many Emmerdale fans are wondering after hearing about Vera-Lynn; some think she could be headed to the soap opera. Though Vera-Lynn was long believed to have passed away when Mandy was a small girl, recent stories suggest she may still be alive, which has led to rumors that she will soon be visiting the hamlet.

“Noticed that Vinnie asked Mandy if she’s heard from her mom,” one online watcher said. I’m not sure if her mother has ever been in that particular Dingle. However, cut to Mandy’s mother showing up.”

Another said, “Are they opening the way for the arrival of another Dingle?” “I think that means we’ll be seeing her soon,” remarked a third.
