Dales Drama: ‘It’s Not a Great Idea’ – Emmerdale Star Discusses Real-Life Age Gaps Amid Character’s Love Triangle

In the midst of the love triangle plotline for her character, an actor from Emmerdale has been vocal about her opinions on age-gap relationships.

The ITV actress revealed that she “worried” about the generational gap and that her on-screen character’s attraction in a younger lady was not a “brilliant idea”.

In the ITV soap opera, actress Louise Jameson portrays Mary Goskirk.

The Sun originally broke the tale of Mary’s new romantic interest back in February.

Soon after, we revealed how the character was dealt a devastating blow when, just as Mary’s affections were starting to surface, Vanessa Woodfield set her eyes on Suzy, the same love interest.

Vanessa, played by actress Michelle Hardwick, then made it very evident that she felt strongly about getting Martelle Edinborough’s role back.

Louise Jameson,73, who portrays Mary Goskirk in Emmerdale, maintains that her character and the somewhat younger Suzy Morton are a “good match” in spite of her reservations.

Louise has now talked candidly to The Mirror about the plot’s resuscitation, which resulted in the reunion of the former pair.

“Maybe a love triangle!” she teased the newspaper, hinting to the conclusion.

“I’m not sure what’s going on yet, but maybe she’ll get together with Suzy. Indeed, I believe they make an excellent fit.

Mary has revealed the sentiments her character has for Suzy Morton.

In the real world, the age difference would scare me.

“It’s probably not the best idea if you’re old enough to be a mother.”

“However, it happens to a lot of people so it’s to do with the people!”

Regarding the scripts’ timeframe, she continued, saying, “I’m not sure when, but there will be a love life plot!

“But they keep dangling this carrot.”

Earlier this year, Suzy and Vanessa Woodfield resumed their affair.

It happens when Mary is attempting to put her past relationship with Faye Helders behind her.

Early in 2023, the couple became together after Mary told her friend Kim Tate and daughter Rhona that she was a lesbian.

However, things soon went south.

Although Louise acknowledged that dating someone much younger was “not a brilliant” decision, she acknowledged that the two got along well.

Following a fire at a women’s shelter, Faye quickly embezzled funds from a fundraiser intended to maintain it.

With the proceeds from the event, Faye treated herself to some terrible sequences in which she attacked Mary.

After escaping, Faye ultimately made her way back to the Dales where she attempted to use an intimate photo against Mary once more.
