As the venerable soap opera gets ready for its 40th anniversary, Annette Badland, who plays Aunt Babe, has suggested that she may be open to coming back to EastEnders.

EastEnders villain It looks like Aunt Babe is about to make a splash back in Albert Square. The renowned villain, played by Annette Badland from 2014 to 2017, was really Mick Carter, played by Danny Dyer, who drove Annette Badland out of her family home.

It appears like Aunt Babe may be preparing her spectacular comeback to wreak further havoc in Walford after her emotional banishment and her public cursing of the renowned Queen Vic in the pouring rain.

Presenter Alan Titchmarsh asked Annette about a potential comeback during an appearance on Sunday’s Love Your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh repeat show.

Annette said with pleasure, “Yes. Indeed, I would,” the Daily Star says.

Aunt Babe could be going back to Walford.

Following up on their chat, Alan said, “Well, you cursed them so we’ll see what happens.” and joking Annette: “I reply, ‘I’ll be back.’ When? I’m not sure.

Alan remarked with optimism, “At least it’s not murder. That somewhat leaves the door open.” With nostalgia, Annette said, “But I loved working with Danny [Dyer], Kellie [Bright], and all of them.”

The Carter family seemed to be cursed ever since Aunt Babe left. Soon after her departure, tragedy struck: Mick and Linda Carter went through a painful divorce before their reconciliation and his unexplained disappearance at sea in March 2017, while Sylvie Carter met her demise in a terrible accident.

In a more current plot from October of last year, Linda’s world was turned upside down by her evil brother-in-law Dean Wicks (played by Matt Di Angelo), a rapist. The landlady struggled with Dean’s controlling presence in the next months.

This comes after Chris Clenshaw, the head of EastEnders, said that legendary soap opera characters will be returning in 2019 to commemorate the show’s 40th anniversary.

According to reports, even greater names are scheduled to return next year, joining the ranks of heavyweights like Chrissie Watts and David Wicks who are scheduled to return this year.
