The letters are being sent by whom?
In the most recent episode of the show, EastEnders disclosed the name of Linda Carter’s enigmatic blackmailer.
Linda was going to accept a bargain this week from Fraser, Dean’s colleague, in which Linda would withdraw her statement of witness and Dean would acknowledge having raped her.
However, Jack’s arrest of Fraser for tampering with the legal system foiled this scheme, even before Linda got an anonymous letter claiming that someone was aware of the Christmas Day occurrences.
The episode that airs tonight on BBC Two will have Linda worried about who may have delivered the letter, and Johnny encouraged her to go to the police station and tell them she wouldn’t be accepting Fraser’s offer.
But Linda, who was incensed at her son’s actions, declined to report the incident to the police until she knew who had made the threat.
Callum was instructed to inquire as to whether Fraser had been freed yet by Johnny, who was eager to find out the truth. Callum responded that Fraser was still being held.
He went back to The Vic and found a second note that said, “Liar!,” after telling Denise and Sharon that Linda hadn’t yet called the police. Admit it!”
This information shocked Linda, and she realized that Fraser could not have sent the letters. Johnny insisted that she call the police immediately.
Before Johnny lost his cool and informed his mother he was done trying to assist her, she refused once more, certain that she would collapse, and sought for some wine.
After being affected by her son’s tantrum, Linda ultimately had second thoughts and called the police.
Later, when Linda got back from the station, she discovered a third note and deduced that the sender was now at the pub.
Before Johnny took her away, she was filled with paranoia and accused Nish, Stacey, and Bernie of being the blackmailers.
Linda informed Johnny that she didn’t feel comfortable in her house since Elaine was certain he was keeping something from her.
In the meantime, Bernie—the enigmatic blackmailer—paid Dean a visit while he was incarcerated.
Bernie stated that she believed Linda knew who killed Keanu, to which Dean urged her to continue writing the letters.
“I believe you,” she said, “and I’m going to get the truth out of her.” What action will Bernie take next?
