“I think they do have a long way to go before they can seriously mend those bridges.”
In the midst of the Cindy Beale affair plot, EastEnders star Micah Balfour has made predictions on what would happen to his character Junior Knight’s relationship with his father George.
After sharing a bed earlier this year, Junior and Cindy started an affair. Next week, they’ll take drastic steps to keep their relationship a secret.
To keep Bobby out of the way, Cindy promotes Bobby to manager of Beale’s Eels. Junior, in turn, gives Peter a position to get him out of the way. This annoys Cindy, who then plans to replace Bobby with Peter in the job, but it backfires.
The complicated connection between Junior and George is also there in the midst of the drama; Micah notes that much of it stems from the fact that “they are really similar personalities” and that they will need to wait until things are addressed.
“Things happen during the course of their relationship that show they can start to mend bridges, but it only takes one action or one comment from either of them for them to both put their walls up,” he said.
Therefore, I believe they still have a ways to go before they can effectively repair those bridges.
He also acknowledged that Junior had no qualms about having sex with the mother of his sister and the former partner of his father.
“Initially, I think he slept with Cindy as a way to get back at his dad, whether he was aware of it or not,” he stated. “I believe that was the original attraction, but as their relationship grew, he began to feel something real for Cindy.
His affection for her is real, albeit I’m not sure how serious those sentiments are. However, he is among those persons who believe that ignorance is not a threat to them.”
Micah continued his compliments, describing Michelle Collins as “an incredible actress and a really lovely person” and praising her collaboration with Colin Salmon, who plays Cindy, and George.
“Colin is also such a generous person and such a beautiful soul, and we’ve had a good time working on this relationship,” he stated.
