After receiving poison pen letters, Linda Carter’s drinking has gotten worse in previous episodes; however, in upcoming episodes, Johnny will have to step in and take charge.

As Linda Carter battles sobriety, Johnny Carter is about to take matters into his own hands in this week’s EastEnders episodes.

The Queen Vic landlady, played by Kellie Bright, is presently suffering from poison pen letters while Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo) is still incarcerated for the Christmastime murder of Danny Walters’ character, Keanu Taylor.

On Thursday, August 8, it was revealed that the mystery sender was Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris), who has been collaborating with Dean to use blackmail to get Linda to withdraw her confession. Despite this, Linda has been left traumatized by the experience.

Johnny attempts to look after Linda.

Next week, Linda’s turmoil intensifies as her drinking spirals out of hand and puts her in jeopardy.

Linda has her pre-trial meeting on Monday, August 12, but she is having trouble staying sober after receiving more poison pen notes.

As this is going on, Bernie visits the evil Dean in prison. He tells Bernie to step it up with the letters to exert more pressure on Linda, so she begins texting as well.

Alcohol abuse has been a problem for Linda Carter.

After receiving threats, Linda is shaken but quickly realizes that the sender has her phone number. She then informs her son Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) that she will not be attending the conference.

Johnny takes matters into his own hands in a frantic attempt to calm Linda down long enough to get her there, but how can he get his scared mother through her court appearance?

Soon after, a prosecutor named Tamara begins questioning Linda, who is inebriated. What will she say?

Johnny attributes Linda’s predicament to Gina.

The next day, Linda has had alcohol all night, and Johnny is unsure of how to assist her.

Gina Knight (Francesca Henry) advises him to assist his mother by using his legal knowledge, and she will take care of Linda.

But when attorney Johnny comes back to The Vic, he and Linda have a heated argument.

After the argument with his mother, Johnny calms down later, but when he gets home, he discovers Linda in a potentially fatal scenario. Will Linda make it through?
