Next week on EastEnders, Reiss Colwell (Jonny Freeman) will be exposed for yet another lie, as he keeps avoiding responsibility for the death of his wife Debbie.
Reiss is deeply in debt despite having killed Debbie in her care facility bed in an attempt to stop his financial problems. However, he finds himself in a tight spot when one of his most recent scams causes partner Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) to become suspicious.
Fans have been witnessing the couple’s engagement for a few weeks now, when Reiss took Debbie’s ring from the morgue and used it to pop the question.
Although they had first decided to keep their engagement a secret to avoid feeding the already raging local rumors, word quickly got out.
In this week’s episodes, Sonia is seen looking regretful that she can’t give her ring to an ecstatic Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadds).
Reiss claimed to her that it was taken during his “mugging,” but in fact, he sold it to Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) to make additional money and settle his obligations to Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden).
Later on, when Eve proposed to her partner at the Vic the week before, Sonia runs into Eve and Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) in the coffee shop. She notices that Suki is wearing her ring.
Though Eve explains to Sonia that Reiss obtained it from a pawn shop, Sonia is still perplexed.
Reiss is put in a difficult situation when Sonia decides to play detective after having a suspicious feeling.
Will he acknowledge his actions?
