In an emotional sequence, a character who has been on Emmerdale for fifteen years was said farewell, and the actor who has played him for so long has now spoken out.
Actor Sam Hall, who played Samson Dingle in Emmerdale, has spoken out about his heartbreaking departure, which aired on Tuesday.
Following recent reports that he was quitting the program, the actor said goodbye to the part he had been playing for 15 years. The character has now, apparently permanently, departed the community, despite some claims regarding an exit.
It comes after the show’s emotional sequences where Samson was sentenced to jail for lying about Matty Barton. He exacted revenge on Josh, the person responsible for the first drama, before to his hearing.
Josh was shocked when Samson retaliated after weeks of threats, leading to Samson’s incarceration. Samson was informed that his sentence would likely be harsher and that he would spend four years in jail following his arrest.
He said goodbye to his father Sam Dingle in tearful circumstances before the locals found out what had happened to him. Now that he’s left the show, actor Sam has opened up about his leave and his time there on social media. Sam has grown up on the program alongside the characters since assuming the role in 2009.
He finally spoke up about the departure on social media, posting, “So, as you can see, Samson has left the village.” I want to thank the entire cast and crew for being with me over the past 15 years; it’s been an amazing narrative. I hope to see Samson again soon.”
After reports that Samson had been fired earlier this year, viewers were taken aback by the decision to let him go. Fans have now criticized his leave plot, saying it was insufficient.
A fan said on X: “Personally don’t think he deserved to have his character ruined these past couple years and felt like he deserved a better send off.” “What a huge mistake Emmerdale has made getting rid of Samson,” remarked a third, while another commented, “That is a terrible exit for Samson.”
In the meantime, supporters also found a betrayal when it became clear who had informed the police about Samson’s attack on Josh. It turned out to be Noah Dingle, despite charges against Moira Dingle.
