After Steve Halliwell passed away last year, Lisa Riley has revealed that Emmerdale would honor “king of the family” Zak Dingle in a special episode.
After the unexpected passing of actor Steve Halliwell, Lisa Riley of Emmerdale has spoken out about the impending heartbreaking tribute to Zak Dingle.
The ITV soap opera executives have announced that a special episode would run in honor of the renowned character who tragically went away on December 15 of last year.
Mandy Dingle’s actress Lisa Riley made an appearance on ITV’s Lorraine on Thursday, August 15, to talk about her impending nuptials with Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt).

But thereafter, the topic of discussion shifted to the soap opera’s homage to Zak. “Isn’t there going to be a tribute to Zak Dingle coming up?” said presenter Ranvir Singh.
Lisa stated: “Yes, we began filming the memorial episode on Monday. We are dedicating this episode to our dear friend Steve Halliwell, who taught me so much and was like a father to me for years on the show. He deserves it.” He is the monarch of the Dingle family and the epitome of the Emmerdale icon. We’ll make him proud because he deserves everything and more.”
Less than a day had passed since Lisa’s co-star Dominic made an appearance on Loose Women, where they talked about their strong relationship outside of the soap opera cameras.

Dominic admitted to the panel that he had cooked up a lie to entice Lisa back to the village when she chose to take a hiatus from the soap opera between 2001 and 2019.
“Of course, in addition to Paddy and Mandy, you and the lovely Lisa are great friends in real life,” added panelist Denise Welsh. Naturally, you are, and you attempted to get her to return when she temporarily disappeared, but didn’t you tell her anything shady to win her back?”
“Yeah, I just told an outright lie,” Dominic said. “Is it still full on?” she asked. When she went, I believe we were recording two or three episodes. I told her, “It’s calm, you can be busy, and then you can go quiet,” but two years later, she said, “You lied to me.” I genuinely missed her, therefore all I wanted was for her to return.”
