Today, August 16, the new scenes will premiere on television.
Dog abuse images will be shown on Emmerdale while Tom King’s abuse of his estranged wife Belle continues.
The dramatic sequences, which are scheduled to air this evening, August 16, see Tom attempting to control Belle by purposefully revving his automobile in Piper’s direction.
The events take place after Belle recently moved back to the village and Tom lets her reside with Piper in their Dale Head house while he goes on vacation. But Belle doesn’t know that he forged his own key and put in covert cameras.
In the events from yesterday night, August 15, Tom broke in by pretending to Belle that the door was unlocked. After Belle turned him down one more, he acted menacingly, and later on, hidden cameras caught Tom observing Belle.
The Dogs Trust and Refuge are working together to create the new Piper scenes. According to a 2019 report conducted by the latter organization, domestic abusers frequently mistreat and even murder their pets as a means of control and coercion.
James Chase, who plays Tom, revealed the new development by saying, “Tom is well aware of the control he can exert by using his dog in his abuse of Belle.”
Even though it’s awful, Tom is deliberately using this act to reclaim Belle’s life. He is aware that her response to Piper’s injury will allow him to console her and regain her trust. Tom is currently clinging on anything, even if it’s a desperate move.
Producer Laura Shaw continued, “It’s evidently all too common that domestic abusers will use the family pet as a weapon after working with the charities and hearing firsthand accounts from survivors of domestic abuse.”
“Watchers will witness Tom resort to extreme means in next scenes in an attempt to maintain control over his failing marriage to Belle, placing Piper in grave danger. Is it possible that Belle will be inspired to denounce her husband as an abuser after committing this horrible act?
Viewers may be reassured by Emmerdale that no dogs were hurt during the filming of these scenes.
