Sammy Winward’s 18-year-old daughter, who is well-known for her role as Katie Sugden on Emmerdale, claims her mother has disconnected them after a disagreement over the teenager creating an Only Fans account.
Star of Emmerdale Sammy Winward has ‘not talked to her daughter in months’ after the teenager created an account on OnlyFans.
Mia, 19, claims that her mother disconnected them after they argued over her choice to sell explicit photos and videos on the adult pay-per-view website. According to Mia, she makes up to £30,000 a month.
Sammy’s most well-known role was in the ITV soap opera as Katie Sugden. She left in 2015, having worked as a teacher for a whole 14 years.
Mia discussed the aftermath, saying, “When we did speak last, [my mom] said some very harsh things. It was terrible.
“But I absolutely love my mum and I love all of my family but none of them speak to me now,” she stated to The Sun.
According to Mia, her father, former Blackburn football player David Dunn, has also cut ties with her.
The teenager expressed her desire to pursue an acting career similar to her mother’s when she joined her on Loose Women in 2021. She worked as a makeup artist after graduating from high school before creating an account on OnlyFans.
Speaking with pals who were making significant money on the website, Mia claimed to have been inspired. According to Mia, her income as a makeup artist has increased by tenfold.
“I only work three days a week and get about £30,000 a month from my account. I record information, post it online, and then spend my time taking care of paperwork,” she disclosed.
According to Mia, using the adult website has advantages beyond just saving money. I get so much power from OnlyFans. Being my own employer, I have faith in my abilities and abilities.”
“I think they’re just being protective of me,” Mia remarked in reference to her family’s disapproval of her chosen job choice. “I will always love and appreciate them,” she continued. I’m hoping we can mend our friendship and move on at some point.
Although Mia doesn’t see OnlyFans as a long-term professional goal, she does like not having to follow a “nine to five” schedule and being able to enjoy life to the fullest.
Fans of Emmerdale loved her mother Sammy. She began appearing in Emmerdale in July 2001, when she was fifteen years old, and has been playing stable manager Katie ever since. Her character was murdered when Katie, who had been thrown to the ground by her ex-lover Robert Sugden, fell through faulty floorboards.
Sammy then gave up performing to work as an acting instructor.
But she returned to the small screen last year, this time as Sonia Sutcliffe, the murderer Peter Sutcliffe’s wife, in the critically praised real crime series The Long Shadow.
