In upcoming Emmerdale episodes, Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) is weighed down with concerns after discovering that Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) was behind her dismissal from the Hide. Seeking comfort, she turns to Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller), but he’s distracted by his own troubles.
Eric orchestrated Victoria’s firing as a form of revenge after she ended her relationship with his grandson, Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant), breaking his heart. To get back at her, Eric blackmailed Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) into dismissing Victoria by falsely claiming she had put broken glass in customers’ food.
As Brenda Walker (Lesley Dunlop) begins to uncover Eric’s role in the events and his involvement in Jai’s retaliation against Amit (Anil Goutam) for Rishi’s (Bhasker Patel) death, she eventually learns about what happened with Victoria. Outraged, she demands Eric make amends with Victoria.
Eric offers Victoria a job at the shop, which she gratefully accepts. However, Brenda is furious that Eric is taking credit for helping Victoria without revealing his part in her unemployment. When Eric finally confesses, Victoria is livid, having struggled financially since losing her job. She tries to vent her frustration to Aaron, but he’s too engrossed in something on his phone to pay attention.
As Victoria and Aaron’s lives are about to take a turn, a new character, John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth), arrives in the village. Eric Pollard soon confirms that John could be Victoria’s half-brother, a revelation that would also make him the brother of Aaron’s ex, Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley), who is currently in prison for attacking Lee Posner, the man who raped Victoria.
Emmerdale bosses have teased that John will “catch the eye of an unsuspecting resident,” and it might just be Aaron. Danny Miller hinted at this possibility during the Radio Times Awards, saying, “There’s a Sugden coming in. With the history that Aaron has with Robert, it’ll be interesting to see what happens with them. It’ll be an interesting few months for sure.”
